School Introduction

PM SHRI Swami Atmanand Government English Medium R.K. School, Pithora is a reputed government educational institution committed to providing quality education and holistic development to students from Pithora and surrounding rural areas of Mahasamund district.

Established in 1972 as Government Ranjeet Krishi Higher Secondary School under the Department of Education, The school was named in honour of the local zamindar Thakur Ranjeet singh Ji , as a mark of respect and recognition for his contribution to the area .The institution has a long-standing legacy of academic excellence and social contribution. Initially functioning as a Hindi-medium boys’ school with a focus on agricultural and general education, the school gradually evolved to meet modern educational needs.

In 2021, the school was transformed into an English-medium institution under the Swami Atmanand scheme, expanding classes from Class 1 to Class 12. Further strengthening its stature, the school was brought under the prestigious PM SHRI (Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India) Scheme in 2024, recognizing it as a model school aligned with national education reforms.

Foundation under Community Management

From April 1958, the institution was managed by the Kaudiya Committee and functioned as Ranjeet Krishi Higher Secondary School, Pithora. The school laid its initial academic roots during this period.

1972
Government Establishment

In 1972, the school was taken over by the Department of Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh, and formally established as a Government Higher Secondary School with structured administration.

2021
Transformation into English Medium

The institution was renamed Swami Atmanand Government English Medium R.K. School, expanding classes from Class 1 to 12 and introducing English-medium instruction to enhance learning standards.
